ICBM Workshop

The ICBM Workshop Series, led by Fredrick Bush, LCSW, empowers Black men to explore masculinity through a culturally grounded and therapeutic lens. By integrating historical context, evidence-based practices, and emotional exploration, the series fosters personal fidelity, psychological resilience, and stronger relationships. Participants are encouraged to tap into deeper strengths, expand their worldviews, and build healthier emotional and familial legacies.

About ICBM Workshop

ICBM offers Black men a fresh approach to engaging with the world.  This experience creates space to build new and authentic ways of living, thinking, loving, and growing community.  Through discussions, reflections, and group activities, participants explore paths to clarity, strength, healing, and purpose.

You’ll gain practical tools to show up more authentically in all areas of life while exploring a Culturally Principled Framework of Masculinity (CPFM). Join us in a supportive environment where your unique perspective matters and where together we can build what doesn’t yet exist.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to attend the Introduction Event before joining the Workshop?

While not required, we recommend attending the Introduction Event to gain valuable context.  Think of the Intro as laying the foundation, and the Workshop as building the house.

How do the Introduction Event and Workshop differ?

BLACK MENtal Health: An Introduction To ICBM is a 4-hour session that plants the seeds — introducing core concepts about men’s mental health and intergenerational trauma. The Workshop is where these seeds grow — a two-day immersive experience exploring how history shapes our mental health, relationships, and communities, while equipping you with practical tools for personal transformation.

Is any background knowledge needed?

None whatsoever. Whether you’re taking your first steps on this journey or you’ve been walking this path for years, the Workshop meets you exactly where you are.

What does the Workshop experience look like?

Expect a dynamic blend of engaging content, thought-provoking videos, honest group conversations, reflective exercises, and interactive activities — all within a space that affirms your experiences and encourages exploration.

Is this just for clinicians, engineers, or those in specialized fields?

Not at all. While ICBM is inspired by the concept of “systems design” as a metaphor for building new ways of being, the Workshop is for Black Men and other Men of Color who are ready to rethink how they live, love, lead, and hold themselves with integrity.

What will I take away from this experience?

You’ll leave with more than just concepts. Expect a clearer sense of self, renewed energy, and practical tools to move through life with purpose and intention. Most importantly, you’ll connect with a community of brothers committed to creating what doesn’t yet exist.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many people will be attending the ICBM Workshop?

To keep the experience personal, meaningful, and interactive, the ICBM Workshop is intentionally limited to a maximum of 40 participants. This smaller group size ensures that every voice is heard, every story matters, and real connections can be made.

Why is the number of attendees limited?

ICBM is not a mass event — it’s a curated experience designed for depth, authenticity, and transformation.  By keeping the group small, we create a powerful environment where honest dialogue, trust, and community can grow naturally.  Your journey deserves more than a crowded room — it deserves space to be seen, heard, and empowered.

Is the ICBM Workshop open to the general public?

This workshop is by registration only and specifically crafted for Black men and men of color who are committed to personal growth, healing, and leadership.  It’s a private, intentional gathering — not a drop-in event — built for those ready to build something new for themselves and their communities.

What happens if registration reaches the limit?

Once we reach 40 registered participants, registration will close.  We recommend registering early to secure your place, as no additional seats will be added.  If registration is full, you’ll have the opportunity to join a waitlist for future ICBM sessions.

Can I bring a guest or walk in on the day of the event?

To maintain the integrity of the space, walk-ins will not be accepted.  Each participant must register individually to ensure we’re building a committed, intentional community.  If you know someone who would benefit, please encourage them to register early.

“To accept one’s past — one’s history — is not the same thing as drowning in it; it is learning how to use it. An invented past can never be used; it cracks and crumbles under the pressure of life like clay in a season of drought.”
